Christ IN Me: It's All About You, Jesus
WHAT IS A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS?
In any relationship, the most important measure of success is how loved the other person feels. This is never more important than in our relationship with God. In the Bible. He tells us very clearly how He expects us to show Him our love (Mark 12:30-33). He gives us many instructions, exhortations and admonitions for our behavior, (Ephesians 3:17-19; 6:6) but mostly He tells us that He wants our hearts...He wants a relationship with us (John 14:1; James 5:8; Deuteronomy 4:29; Samuel 1:12:24; 1:16:7; Jeremiah 29:13; 1 Chronicles 22:19; Matthew 15:8). Like with our human relationships, that only happens in our hearts. Healthy Heart.
STEPS TO TAKE TO LIVE IN CHRIST IN HIM (2 Corinthians 13:5; 2 Peter 3:18)
- First you decide to commit your life
to Jesus Christ which means accepting Him as your savior and your Lord. (The savior part is easier part is easier than the lord part).
Second you assess how well your life matches God's expectations.
Next you develop a plan to make any and all adjustments necessary to be truly IN Christ and you ask Jesus to help you make changes.
Then you do whatever is necessary to be a fully devoted Christian. Then you re-assess how you're doing, then revise the plan, re-assess, and so on.
MAKE A PLAN Once you have an idea of the areas you would like to work on, develop a plan of action for your growth in the faith. Try this sample to help you get started.
- IN-tentional in your daily commitment to follow God's commandments
First, and most critical, commit your heart to Jesus. Without His love and healing power, it is incredibly difficult to weather tough times and easy to fall into sin. Second, commit to follow His commandments in your daily life. Reconfirm this commitment to Jesus in daily prayers.
- IN-stall a daily/home structure that keeps you firmly grounded in Christ (schedule, budget).
We put planning and infrastructure into our work and leave our personal life up to chance. Without a plan, we fall into human behavior that is often reactional and based on self-preservation rather than our Christian values. Set up a structure that supports being a fully devoted follower of Christ. .
- IN-tegrate all aspects of your life into one Christian view.
Define your life view. You have two choices, Christ's view or the world's. Christ's view of life is defined in te Bible, and not popular in the world. It is difficult to be fully devoted to living as a Christian since it involves giving up self, tireless forgiveness, and no escape to sin, while the world view involves independence, taking care of "me" and an easy way out of accountability. We try to live a little in both views which gives Satan (the ruler of this world) a foot in the door. Once he gets a toehold, his mission is to destroy your relationship with Jesus. No matter how hard, line your all of your life up with Jesus' view.
- IN-corporate
daily practices so all you do is focused on Christ.
Include prayer, Bible reading, quiet time, tithing, service, disicpling, and stewardship into your daily activities. Most importantly, incorporate love and kindness into all you do. Love is action and action speaks louder than words. Show the love of Jesus through your actions. Christian Self-Assessment....
- IN-still the perspective that it about Jesus and not about you.
It is easy to get wrapped up in your own needs/priorities and lose sight of the fact that it is about being a team for Christ to spread the Word. Your "success" or value is directly related whether Christ is in your heart and directs your priorities.
- IN-spect your heart daily.
Since we are human and fall short of the glory of God, we have to take stock in how we are doing as a fully devoted follower of Christ. Proactive assessment is key to keeping a healthy heart for Jesus. (2 Cor 13:5; 2 Peter 3:18)
- IN-volve yourselves in a church family.
Our church family is our extended family, (Eph 2:19-21) critical in readying us for battle with Satan, in providing refuge from the world and in rejuvenating us for more battle. In this family, we receive encouragement, instruction and chastisement when needed. Involvement in this family is a major support for our Christian journey).
- IN-fluence those you encounter with Christian living and Christ's love.
Your primary mission field is in your daily life. Here you can make a difference for Christ every day. Show your spouse, your children, friends, co-workers, neighbors, a devoted Christian, modeling loving and serving others. Take time to invest in younger believers who need help with their journey. (Titus 2:1-7)
- IN-spire others with stories about how Jesus is alive in your life.
The most powerful witness for Christ is your testimony. (John 4:39;1 Peter 3:15,16) Give glory to God for your life.
- IN-filtrate the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
It is very difficult for believers to ignore the world's message that the Bible is too rigid and old fashioned. Spread the news about Jesus through your actions and whenever the opportunity arises, tell others that Christ loves them and will save them, too.

SUBMIT YOUR TESTIMONY
|
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you, unless, of course, you fail the test.
2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:18 NKJV

7 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height? 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV
