MEET TERRI
Have you ever had a friend that makes you smile whenever you think of her? And you feel a skip of joy that she is so full of life, and you might be a part of her next adventure? Have you had a friend that you want your other friends to meet so they'll know her heart and feel her genuineness? I have that friend. Her name is Terri and I want you all to meet her.
She lives in Guam and has four great children. While she is a well-rounded Christian woman with a wide variety of interests, her greatest interest is her family. She has unending loyalty and support for her husband, Greg, a pastor. He comes first, no matter what. I can't help but think that as God looks down at her, He says," Dear daughter, that's what I meant by "help-mate." When I struggle with following my husband's lead, it's Terri I call. She listens to my stubborn groanings, then gently reminds me of my promise to God, and to my husband.
When I feel the most joy in knowing Terri is when I see her with her children. They look at her with great love and admiration. It is clearly evident how much they trust her and enjoy her. Terri puts "play" in the "family that plays together stays together." She keeps the joy in her family by joking, fooling around with them and reminding them often, not to take themselves (or anything) too seriously. As a pastor's family, they live in the fishbowl of congregation life. Terri makes sure that they keep their eyes on the ball and their hearts on Jesus. She believes that the church family will be best served if she takes care of her family so they can minister together, as a team for Christ.
Being Terri's friend means you get a close-up look at her love for her family. It also means you get a close up look at her love, period. If you are Terri's friend, she loves you and you know it! And you never wonder if you'll be hurt because she is different behind your back then she is to your face. You know she is a completely faithful friend. Actually, you know that she is a completely faithful woman who loves people fervently, and wouldn't hurt anyone purposely. I am so glad you got to meet Terri. If you are ever in Guam, give her a call. She would absolutely, positively, welcome you in as though you were family...But be prepared! Knowing Terri is truly an adventure.
